  • Dirty Dan Harris Steakhouse reopened Jan. 4 in Fairhaven under new ownership led by former general manager Steve Marandola, following a two-year closure from a fire at the Terminal Building — it now offers a renovated dining area including the new Phantom Room for guests with sensory or respiratory needs.  KISM

CULTURE NEWS

  • The City invites residents to honor Martin Luther King Jr. with two events next week—a work party on Jan. 17 at Squalicum Creek Park and a breakfast with local vendors at Sehome High School on Jan. 19. Sehome High is wheelchair accessible and offers ASL if requested three days in advance.  City of Bellingham

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • San Juan County will keep its 32-hour work week after a two-year pilot saved nearly $2M + boosted unionized applicant numbers by over 200% while cutting voluntary separations by 28%. The county will use the model to manage budget and workforce challenges.  KAFE
