- ➤ The Fairhaven Association announced the post-Ski to Sea festival will change its format this spring. The event will be spread throughout Fairhaven Village without street closures, giving local businesses a chance to host entertainment, beverage gardens, and food vendors (a more flexible community celebration). GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Whatcom County opened flood recovery funds on Jan. 22 for organizations supporting families with pregnant women or children aged 5 and under, offering short-term services plus basic housing support until Feb. 23. KISM
- ➤ State officials confirmed on Thursday, Jan. 22 that signatures were verified for an initiative by Let's Go Washington that would bar students assigned male at birth from playing in girls' sports; the legislature will decide to pass the measure or send it to voters in November. KISM
