BUSINESS NEWS

  • Local barbecue spot Homeschool BBQ announced it will close its doors at the end of March — ending nearly three years of service in the community. Owners Chris and Aaron described the experience as both sad and exciting.  KAFE

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • WSDOT crews began emergency repairs on Highway 20 north of Marblemount on Friday, Jan. 23, replacing a culvert, rebuilding the roadbed, installing guardrail, and removing hazardous trees; after being closed for essential local traffic since mid-December, the highway will reopen in February.  KISM

SPORTS NEWS

  • At WWU’s home court on Saturday, the Vikings women beat Simon Fraser 66–40 before the men ended a three-game skid with an 80–68 win — the teams will play further matchups later this week.  My Bellingham Now
  • The Seahawks advance to Super Bowl 60 on Feb. 8 after beating the Rams 31-27 at Lumen Field, and the Kraken will host the Capitals tomorrow at 7 p.m. Local college and high school teams are set to compete in upcoming regional matchups.  KISM
