ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ A structure fire at a home near Everson on Feb. 22 left no one injured but displaced two residents, prompting Red Cross assistance as crews responded at 6:10 a.m. near the intersection of E. Pole and Everson Goshen roads — the cause is under investigation. KISM

- ➤ Wild Women Week in Bellingham runs for two weeks from Monday, Feb. 23 until March 8 to celebrate International Women’s Day (free event). The celebration includes a film night at Lost Giants Cider Co. and offers outdoor activities for women and femme-identifying people. KAFE
ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ Gas prices in Whatcom County rose nearly 60 cents over the past month to $4.28 per gallon because California refineries are struggling with regulations + rising summer demand is expected to push prices higher, though they remain among the lowest in the region. KISM

- ➤ Invasive Species Awareness Week started Feb. 23 as the Washington Invasive Species Council hosts free webinars to help locals protect water from invasive species & weeds and insects. The sessions aim to share practical tips to stop species from harming local habitats. KAFE
