- ➤ Boundary Bay Brewing announced it will reopen later this year as Boundary on State at the former Time and Materials building on N State St. The microbrewery will offer a nanobrewery along with wines, cocktails, and a rotating menu, managed by longtime owners’ new team. KISM

- ➤ Executive Director Gail Ridenour is leading the BSO’s 50th-anniversary season with a sold-out Yo-Yo Ma performance and has announced plans for the 51st season featuring local partnerships such as Shoestring Circus and Opus Performing Arts — she credits the orchestra’s success to a roster with 95% local talent. - ➤ Whatcom County’s drought emergency stays in effect after a Feb. 27 state update reported only 76% snowpack in the North Puget Sound region amid above-average temperatures since October, and Deputy State Climatologist Karin Bumbaco said record snowfall is needed by April to reach normal levels. - ➤ A state update on Feb. 27 showed that Whatcom County’s snowpack remains at 76% amid a drought emergency declared last June. Officials say warm temperatures since Oct. mean heavy snowfall is needed before water supplies return to normal by April. 1170 KPUG
