  • New beach access at Boulevard Park will open to the public tomorrow, Mar. 5, after construction barricades near Woods Coffee are removed. Meanwhile, part of the South Bay Trail is closed today from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. for asphalt paving.  My Bellingham Now

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Whatcom County homeowners are noticing more spiders indoors as warmer weather and increased insect activity make them more visible. Pest control experts advise sealing cracks and reducing clutter to block entry points — early prevention this spring may help reduce further issues.  KISM
  • Lynden resident Gracie Lamb documented 46 bald eagles along a 1.5-mile stretch between Axlund and the Guide just before 1 p.m. on Jan. 30 as migratory raptors flew overhead and fought over carrion, surpassing a previous count of 20 from four years ago.  Lynden Tribune
