- ➤ On Sunday evening, a Whatcom County ambulance transporting a patient with chest pains was hit by a bullet on the Mount Baker Highway east of Deming (at 9:30 p.m.), and law enforcement said the bullet (fired from a rifle) ricocheted off the windshield into the vehicle’s sheet metal, leaving no one injured. 1170 KPUG

- ➤ A second stuffed sloth found in a tree along I-5 near Lake Samish was taken down by WSDOT workers Monday morning — officials said placing objects in trees along busy highways is dangerous for travelers and workers. KISM
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Unionized healthcare workers at PeaceHealth St. Joseph Medical Center are voting today to authorize a strike amid concerns over wages, benefits and staffing, with over 900 workers (service workers, lab assistants and imaging technicians) taking part in a vote that ends today and results expected on Wednesday.
