- ➤ Lineage, a Michigan-based warehouse company with over 485 facilities worldwide, will buy Bellingham Cold Storage for $42 million—covering its Orchard/I-5 center and Burlington Dry location. The facility has been on the waterfront since 1946 and supports about 1,200 jobs, and it recently signed a 50-year lease extension with the Port of Bellingham. KAFE

- ➤ Bellingham Municipal Court will host Law Day events between April 22 and May 5 at 2014 C St — the public will see court proceedings, meet judges and legal professionals, and view canine and drone demonstrations, while local eighth graders join in as part of a school partnership. - ➤ Bellingham drivers are advised that the left lane of southbound I-5 between Bakerview Road and Sunset Drive will close Thursday, April 17 from 3:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. for sign replacement work—on-ramps at Northwest Avenue and Guide Meridian will also close during this period, so expect delays. KAFE
- ➤ Today, the Whatcom County Council is set to present proposals for new electoral boundaries in and around Lynden — a move prompted by the city annexing over 36 acres last year and its growing population. The proposals would split the 128th precinct into four sections and the 611th into two to meet the 1,500 registered voter limit while leaving district boundaries unchanged. KISM
- ➤ FEMA denied Washington’s request for disaster relief funds on April 11 for repairs after November’s bomb cyclone caused an estimated $34 million in damage to highways, utilities and electric grids, and Governor Ferguson said the state met all criteria + plans to appeal the decision. KAFE
