- ➤ No one was injured when an RV fire started near the Guide at the intersection of Guide and Smith Road around 5 p.m. Monday after someone used starter fluid on an unused RV—fire crews from North Whatcom, Fire District 7 and Bellingham quickly put out the blaze that spread to a second RV while an investigation began. - ➤ Last weekend, more than 200 Washington firefighters left for northern Alberta and Saskatchewan to battle dozens of wildfires, with smoke drifting into the Midwest and eastern parts of the country. They are working under an inter-regional agreement, and Canadian crews have already sent aircraft to support the efforts. KISM
