- ➤ Whatcom County Executive Satpal Sidhu signed an order on June 18 to raise Lummi Island Ferry fares on August 23 — officials say the fare hike is needed to meet operational costs after years of stagnant rates. My Bellingham Now
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Whatcom County Health and Community Services added two naloxone dispenser boxes in Bellingham—one at the Way Station on N. State Street and one at its administration office on Girard Street—to offer free, 24/7 access to naloxone. The department will add two more boxes at a Lummi Nation Fire Station and the Blaine Food Bank and noted a 37% drop in opioid overdoses during the first five months of 2025 compared to last year.
