Rick Larsen said that a federal judge approved an emergency restraining order on July 15 to keep a family of five, including Honduran Kenia Jackeline Merlos and her four U.S. citizen children, in ICE custody in Ferndale rather than being sent abroad. Rep. Maxine Dexter and Larsen demanded that Homeland Security allow the family to speak with an attorney (as their immigration documents remain pending) after Merlos was held since June 28.
