- ➤ Everson Police rescued a person who became stranded on a log jam at the 6200 block on Lawrence Road while inner tubing on the Nooksack River Friday afternoon+ he wore a life jacket approved by the US Coast Guard+ he sustained no injuries. KISM

GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The main lot at Bellingham International Airport is closed until Sept. 12 for upgrades to an automated parking system—economy parking will close Sept. 15 until Oct. 3 for similar updates. Travelers should plan ahead as parking reservations will not be available until the work is complete. KISM
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Whatcom County Health and Community Services has recalled frozen shrimp sold under the brands Sand Bar, Best Yet, Arctic Shores, Great American and First Street between July 17 and Aug. 8 due to possible radioactive contamination. The recall follows an FDA detection of Cesium-137 in one shipment—no illnesses have been reported so far. KISM
