- ➤ Glen and Lisa Oostema run the 117-acre Oostema Farmstead in Lynden that offers lodging and raises Wagyu beef. They left the dairy industry 22 years ago and now focus on agritourism—selling local products at their farm store on Saturdays. KISM

- ➤ A 46-year-old motorcyclist was hospitalized at Harborview Medical Center after a hit-and-run crash on Highway 20 in Skagit County on Sept. 3—when a pickup truck turned in front of him—and four truck passengers were unharmed as Washington State Patrol believes drugs and alcohol were factors.
