Lake Whatcom Water and Sewer District will use over $2 million from Washington’s Hazard Mitigation Grant (FEMA funding) to retrofit its Division 22-1 reservoir with ShakeAlert to reduce water outages during earthquakes.
Construction is expected to finish by 2028 (75% grant coverage).
