  • The owners of Thai Maison finalized the sale of the Carnal restaurant on State Street and will reopen it as Iki Izakaya and Bar in either early December or the beginning of January—while they keep the fast-casual spot Accomplice open as they grow their artisanal jerky business online.  KAFE

CULTURE NEWS

  • David Wight works in his Sunnyland studio on Lincoln Street where he makes glass sculptures that capture the ocean's energy. He creates about 1,000 pieces a year—some appear on Norwegian Cruise Lines ships and at Disney while his open studio invites local visitors to see his process.  KISM

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The state Department of Transportation is asking residents for input on replacing the Glacier Creek Bridge along Mount Baker Highway. The project will start in 2027 to reduce flood risk—restore salmon habitat and improve traveler safety.  Lynden Tribune

  • Veterinarians advise Bellingham pet owners to choose pet food based on balanced nutrition and ingredient quality rather than brand names—high-quality dry or canned food for dogs and wet food for cats support overall health while treats should make up no more than 10% of daily calories.  KISM
  • Health officials are urging residents to limit wood burning to only necessary times—using dry and clean wood to protect air quality and reduce health risks from fine particles.
