- ➤ A local art nonprofit announced that Fire and Story will return to the Bellingham waterfront next to the pump track the weekend of January 22nd, 2026 with expanded immersive art, fires, more food court options and family areas. The three‐night winter festival will offer a VIP ticket option and feature performances including indigenous storytelling, music, performance art, fire dancing, metalsmithing and saunas. KAFE

- ➤ Western Washington University extended President Sabah Randhawa’s contract for two more years after the Board approved the extension on Oct 17; his new contract runs until July 31 with an option for up to 30 days of professional assignment leave each year — a change the Board recommended. - ➤ Lummi Nation School in Lynden celebrated its new soccer mini-pitches that offer a safe area for student play. The school marked the upgrade with a photo gallery and plans to enhance physical education. Lynden Tribune
