ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Wind and rain caused power outages that left 15,000 customers without power early Saturday. Puget Sound Electricity reduced outages to 9,085 and continued work in areas with strong winds — including parts from Mt. Vernon to Bellingham — while warnings remained in effect. FOX13
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Barbara Demorest, a breast cancer survivor, founded the local nonprofit Knitted Knockers to provide free knitted prosthetics for women affected by breast cancer worldwide. Volunteers meet weekly in Whatcom County—shipping over 12,000 items monthly to more than 2,400 medical offices to support patients during treatment. KISM
