GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The SR 20 North Cascades Highway is closed due to wintry weather — snow and rain have created hazardous conditions, and it has been inaccessible from the Ross Lake Dam to the Silver Star Mountain gate since 5 p.m. Thursday. Crews will assess the road on Monday to decide if it can reopen. FOX13
- ➤ The City invites residents to help design a new waterfront skatepark — survey open until Nov. 17 and open house held that day — and a parks plan event will be held on Nov. 19 at Bloedel Donovan Park. Other projects include salmon passage improvements at Padden Creek, road and watermain repairs along Russell Street with temporary lane closures, and a bow hunt on Galbraith Mountain that will limit access from Dec. 11 to 14. HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Local health officials today announced that ByHeart has voluntarily recalled all batches of its Whole Nutrition Infant Formula after a botulism outbreak linked to 15 cases in 12 states, including one case in Washington. Parents who bought the formula are urged to return or discard it and sanitize any surfaces it touched — infants with symptoms should be taken to an emergency room immediately. KISM

- ➤ This weekend, Whatcom County hosts holiday events with BIGFOOT, a dark comedy play at Options Theatre in Bellingham running today until November 16, and holiday markets at Garden Spot and Lynden. A psychobilly concert featuring Nekromantix, D.O.A., and The Rumours will be held at Bar211 on Sunday—adding varied local options for entertainment. KAFE
