- ➤ Residents in Glacier are rallying as the local post office stopped offering stamps after the recent death of the postmaster, leaving them with no way to mark mail while the next service is 8 miles away in Maple Falls. U.S. Rep. Rick Larsen sent a letter to the Postmaster General asking if the contract will be renewed by Dec. 5—residents need clear answers to keep their mail service running. KAFE
- ➤ Bellingham residents can pick up free native tree saplings at the Farmers Market on Nov. 29—work will soon begin on a waterfront cleanup to transform a contaminated site into Salish Landing Park, which will temporarily close Glass Beach for up to three years. The city also reached an agreement with NWCAA to upgrade air quality at Post Point and announced holiday closures for City Hall, the library, and other services while urging proper kitchen disposal to prevent clogs. - ➤ The Port of Bellingham has launched a survey to gather feedback from Whatcom County residents on future travel options from Bellingham International Airport. The survey will help decide which airlines and destinations to choose—important since Alaska and Allegiant remain the only major carriers after Southwest left in 2024 and Allegiant will soon begin service to Burbank.
