ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Whatcom County Health and Community Services issued a violation notice to Custer Sportsman’s Club after investigators found over 100 lead bullet fragments off its property during a multi-year investigation. The club must submit a corrective plan by December 30 or face fines of up to $125 per day. KISM
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ WSDOT will close the North Cascades Highway for the winter season starting Thursday, Dec. 4 (at 6 p.m.) between Ross Dam trailhead and Silver Star gate due to heavy snow and avalanche risks; crews expect snow showers to begin Friday. KISM
REAL ESTATE NEWS
- ➤ Harcourt, an Ireland-based company, has listed Bellingham’s iconic Granary building on the waterfront for sale—one of four buildings it retained after a contract termination earlier this year, with two still under construction; the six-story building was built in 1929 and renovated in 2019 to offer commercial and office space.
