- ➤ Just before 5 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 22, a call for a residential fire on Jones Road in Sumas led to a rapid response that saw all seven occupants exit safely even as the home and belongings were lost. Lynden Tribune

- ➤ Mt. Baker Ski Area opened today after WSDOT reopened the Mount Baker Highway yesterday following a landslide closure, allowing passholders and visitors to enjoy the mountain with 60 inches of fresh snow over the past four days. KISM
