  • Following December's historic flood, local agencies and county departments continue recovery efforts. County Health and Community Services is allocating $750,000 to support families, and the Disaster Loan Outreach Center in Sumas will provide low-interest loans to help households and small businesses rebuild.  KAFE

CULTURE NEWS

  • Ja Rule & Fat Joe will perform at the Grandstand Stage at the Northwest Washington Fair on Thursday, Aug. 20 in Lynden. Tickets go on pre-sale Wednesday, March 18 with public sales beginning Friday at 9 a.m.  KAFE

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • WSDOT will close the right lane of I-5 southbound near Bow Hill Road in Skagit County from 7 p.m. tonight to 5:30 a.m. Thursday morning to install new signs and traffic sensors, and drivers should expect delays.  KISM

  • WWU women lost a close game 57-54 to Cal Poly Pomona on Saturday, ending their tournament run. Senior Olivia Hodges scored 15 points to set a new rebounds record as the Vikings finished 25-8.  KISM
