- ➤ Whatcom County's jobless rate stayed at 4.8% in April after losing over 100 jobs from March, and Skagit County showed a similar trend with its rate rising more than one percentage point from last April; a new statewide job report is expected on June 17. KISM

- ➤ The state Board of Education recognized 379 public schools from 150 districts for closing opportunity gaps in the 2024–25 school year, with Beach Elementary in the Ferndale district noted for its top 10% growth in math and improved attendance — officials said. Lynden Tribune
